No French department has more grid-connected renewable energy production facilities than Aveyron.

1,593 equipment of this type will indeed be present on the territory at the end of the current year, reports

Center Presse Aveyron

.

840 new production sites were added in 2021. This is twice the figure recorded in previous years.

The production of photovoltaic energy is the most represented, with 6,199 installations generating 255 MW.

Next comes hydropower and its 69 production devices, followed by wind power, with 22 sites in Aveyron.

In total, the 1,593 facilities provide 498 MW of energy through 6,298 installations.

These energy producers are often farmers.

They have made arrangements to generate renewable energy to power their operations but also to resell electricity.

In order to enable as many people as possible to inject their current into the network, five new source substations will be added over the next ten years.

Transformers will also be installed on posts already in operation.
