  Reporter Tong Xiaoyu

On November 1, the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court was inaugurated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and a number of artists were hired as consultants and researchers.

Compared with other social hotspots, this seems to be a small news, but for Zhejiang calligraphy circles, this is a big event.

Zhao Yanjun, vice-chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles and director of the Zhejiang Academy of Literary and Cultural Affairs, said bluntly: I have been looking forward to it for a long time.

It is reported that in recent years, people from all walks of life in Zhejiang have proposed the idea of establishing the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court for many times, and some well-known calligraphers have also frequently suggested that they hope to establish the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court.

Regarding the popularization, inheritance and promotion of calligraphy art, there are already provincial and municipal calligraphy associations, China Academy of Art, Xiling Yinshe and other units. Why should Zhejiang establish a calligraphy court?

Why is it worth looking forward to?

To a certain extent, this lies in Zhejiang's genes.

Historically, Zhejiang has nurtured calligraphy masters such as Wang Xizhi, Chu Suiliang, Zhao Mengfu, Wu Changshuo, Shen Yinmo, Lu Weizhao, and Sha Menghai, who have created a peak of calligraphy art.

But it is such a "big family", and there is no comprehensive and professional calligraphy court.

You know, since the establishment of the Chinese Calligraphy Court in 2004, more than 10 provincial-level calligraphy courts have been established across the country, and they have played a certain role in artistic creation, academic construction and young talent training.

Zhang Gengyuan, director of the Xiling Seal Society and a distinguished researcher of the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court, admitted that the current popularization of calligraphy in Zhejiang has achieved remarkable results, but there are not many peaks.

From a professional level, it is necessary to add another "fire" to help the art of calligraphy reach the next peak.

It is reported that the newly established Zhejiang Calligraphy Court is positioned as a professional research platform for calligraphy creation, which will have five functions, including quality creation, academic research, cultivation of famous artists, exhibition and exchange, and art collection.

At first glance, these functions are available in the Chinese Calligraphy Association and universities, but Shen Hao, a professor at the China Academy of Art and a distinguished researcher of the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court, said that the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court is still significantly different from them in terms of positioning.

For example, the focus of the association's work is the popularization of calligraphy art, and colleges and universities are based on the cultivation of young professionals.

Zhao Yanjun revealed that the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court will dig deep into the historical resource advantages of Zhejiang calligraphy and promote the creation and research of calligraphy. For example, next year, the research on the history of calligraphy in Zhejiang during the Song Dynasty will be carried out, and then the research on calligraphy in the Ming Dynasty and Qin and Han Dynasties will also be put on the agenda.

At the moment when calling for enhancing cultural self-confidence and promoting the construction of a strong cultural province, the establishment of Zhejiang Calligraphy Court has undoubtedly provided high-end, comprehensive and systematic professional services and academic support for the development of Zhejiang calligraphy art, making calligraphy an important cultural “important window” It is an important driving force for the development of Zhejiang's cultural undertakings and a boutique carrier for promoting excellent traditional culture.

At the site of the unveiling ceremony, the reporter observed that the words "Zhejiang Calligraphy Court" on the plaque are the calligraphy masters of the 20th century Sha Menghai.

This is the "heritage" of Zhejiang calligraphy, and it also symbolizes the continuity of Zhejiang calligraphy culture.

Looking forward to witnessing the Zhejiang Calligraphy Court achieving a new peak in Zhejiang calligraphy art in the near future.
