In Chatou (Yvelines), a noise monitoring station has been installed by Bruitparif, the noise observatory in Île-de-France.

Its objective is to measure since this week the noise level of planes passing over the city and in particular those approaching the runways of Le Bourget (Seine-Saint-Denis), reports Le Parisien.

Private jets are particularly targeted.

The Association of municipalities for the reduction of air pollution (Acrena) is at the origin of the approach.

It has been chaired for three years by the DVD mayor of Chatou Éric Dumoulin.

In all, 29 stations of this type have already been installed in Île-de-France to measure aircraft noise.

Three record data related to Le Bourget airport.

Several months of measurement will be necessary to obtain figures.

According to the city councilor, air traffic is on the rise at Le Bourget.

The easterly winds would also have strengthened due to climate change, causing more noise pollution in Chatou.

“We are not anti-aircraft, that is not the question.

But we simply ask that the rules be respected, ”assured Éric Dumoulin.
