A driver in his 20s was arrested after a sightseeing bus carrying passengers on a day trip overturned on a prefectural road in Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture on the 13th, killing one passenger and injuring 35 others. I found out through interviews with the bus operating company that I had no experience working on a bus in the past.

In response to the investigation, the driver stated that "the brakes stopped working," and the police are investigating the details of the accident.

Before noon on the 13th, on a prefectural road in Subashiri, Oyama Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, a sightseeing bus with 36 passengers and crew members on a day tour overturned.



According to police, Emiko Edagawa (74), a bus passenger from Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture, died in the accident.

In addition, 35 people were injured, including three female passengers in their 60s to 80s who were seriously injured.



Police arrested Yuta Noguchi (26), a driver in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, on the spot on suspicion of negligent driving injury.

He admitted to the investigation, and according to investigative sources, he stated that "the brakes stopped working while driving."



Also, according to the bus operator, Noguchi driver had no experience of riding on the same course in the past, and this was the first time.



The scene is a prefectural road with one lane on each side, and police are investigating the details of the accident, assuming that the bus ran over the slope on the left side of the road and overturned.
