Twitter refuses to cancel its lawsuit against Elon Musk, even if the billionaire has changed his mind and finally wants to buy the social network.

Elon Musk's lawyers complained that Twitter "insists on continuing the procedure, endangering the transaction and playing with the interests of shareholders", according to a legal document consulted by AFP.

Twitter refuses to cancel its lawsuit against Elon Musk.

The latter was brought when the billionaire announced that he would give up the takeover of the social network in July.

Since then, he has changed his mind: he finally made the same purchase offer as in April, that is to say 44 billion dollars.

Yet he had been trying to cancel it for weeks.

Elon Musk's lawyers seek arbitration from judge

In making this new offer, Elon Musk still issued a condition: that Twitter cancel the legal proceedings.

The trial was to start in ten days.

Faced with Twitter's refusal, the billionaire's lawyers requested arbitration from the litigation judge.

Twitter struggles to trust the billionaire

A few hours ago, this judge decided to give the two parties some time to come to an agreement.

They must close the sale on October 28 at the latest, at 5 p.m.

If not, then the trial will take place in November.

The fact that Twitter does not want to drop the lawsuits shows that the social network has difficulty trusting Elon Musk.

But is this surprising given the turnarounds of recent months?
