France 2 has obtained two interviews from Emmanuel Macron, one will be broadcast on October 12 and will focus on international issues and the other will be broadcast on October 26 and will focus on domestic politics.

These two interviews are particularly awaited by France TV as relations between the president and the public group have been strained in recent months.

France 2 managed to obtain two interviews from Emmanuel Macron.

The two interviews with the Head of State will be broadcast on two different dates: one on October 12 on international issues (notably the war in Ukraine) and another on October 26 on domestic policy.

The two interviews are both scheduled at 8:30 p.m.

Caroline Roux will present the show

This is therefore an opportunity for the channel to launch its new political program,

L'Event.

With such a guest, it is aptly named.

Caroline Roux will be at the head of the show and each interview will be followed by a debrief, that is to say a set to decipher the interview and analyze the subjects raised.

Emmanuel Macron's interview is particularly awaited by France 2 because relations between the public group and the Élysée have been complicated for years.

Emmanuel Macron has favored TF1 several times, granting the private channel exclusive interviews.

France 2, she had above all the right to duo interviews with TF1 (July 14 being the latest example, it was Caroline Roux who had co-interviewed her with Anne-Claire Coudray).

Tense relations between France TV and the Elysée

In the middle of the presidential campaign, Emmanuel Macron had even refused to go to the set of the political

program Elysée 2022

on April 5.

He was then the only candidate not to be present.

This even forced the France 2 teams to resort to an ubiquitous solution: broadcast images of the president's meeting to respect equal speaking time.

The Society of Journalists of France 2 had challenged Emmanuel Macron in a public letter, asking: "Why do you refuse the invitations from France 2?".

Behind the scenes, what was being whispered about was that the Head of State did not like Anne-Sophie Lapix, presenter of 8 p.m. on France 2. This would be the reason why he would have systematically favored TF1 and also the reason why the journalist would also have been excluded from the presentation of the debate.

Emmanuel Macron had himself claimed to have never "sorted out the journalists".

And then, he had still ended up accepting an interview in the 8 p.m. newspaper, the day after the first round.
