In Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu City, a slope near a residential area collapsed due to record heavy rain late last month, and three buildings were caught in the earth and sand.

The city conducted an investigation and announced on the 6th that it may have been caused by the embankment at the site.

According to this, as a result of comparing the images of the residential area at the time of construction and just before the landslide, it is believed that 3,000 cubic meters of the 8,000 cubic meters of embankment was washed away by this landslide.

The city has expanded the scope of the evacuation order from 9 people in 4 households to 26 people in 12 households in the surrounding area, and has installed a device to measure changes in the ground. It means being cautious.

As a result of interviews with the relatives of the owners of the land where the city has embankments, it is said that two contractors were throwing away the earth and sand at the site.

In addition, eight years ago, the city issued administrative guidance on the grounds that another contractor had brought soil containing industrial waste to the site. It was also revealed that the city had provided and consulted.

The city has set up a third-party committee made up of experts to investigate further.
