Kusatsu Onsen, one of Gunma Prefecture's leading tourist destinations, has raised the admission fee for its famous "Yumomi" from this month in response to soaring crude oil prices.

The tourist facility "Netsunoyu" in Kusatsu Onsen in Kusatsu Town is popular because you can observe the "yumomi" process, in which hot spring water is stirred with a board to lower the temperature.

The tourist association, which operates the facility, said that due to the impact of the new coronavirus, the number of customers has remained at about 70% of what it was before, and the high oil price is expected to increase the cost of heating the seats in the future. We have increased the price of admission.

The admission fee for adults has increased by 100 yen to 700 yen, and for children by 50 yen to 350 yen.

The increase in the viewing fee is the first time since it was rebuilt to the current facility seven years ago.

Shunsuke Fukuda, secretary-general of the Kusatsu Onsen Tourism Association, said, "Although running costs will rise, the burden will increase, but with the start of 'National Travel Assistance', I would like to do my best to protect 'Yumomi', which can be said to be a symbol of Kusatsu. I was talking.
