On the night of the 5th, a man crossing a national highway in Agematsu Town, Nagano Prefecture, was hit by two cars and died.

The car that hit the man first drove away and police are investigating it as a hit-and-run.

Around 7:15 pm on the 5th, at the intersection of National Route 19 in Agematsu Town, Nagano Prefecture, Hiroki Yamada (29), who lives nearby, was crossing a pedestrian crossing with a traffic light. It was also hit by a following large truck.



Mr. Yamada was rushed to the hospital, but he died about an hour later.



According to the police, based on security camera footage and what the truck driver said, the car that first hit Mr. Yamada ran away from the scene. It means that debris was left behind.



Police are investigating the whereabouts of the escaped vehicle as a hit-and-run incident.



The site is about 200 meters north of Nezame no Toko, a scenic spot in Agematsu Town, where houses and shops are scattered.
