  Anne Ernault was born in Lille Beaune-sur-Mer, France in 1940, and spent her childhood in Ivoto, a small town in Normandy.

She first taught in secondary schools, then worked at the French Distance Education Center, and continued to write after her retirement.

Ernault started writing in 1974 and has published about fifteen works so far. His representative works include the autobiographical novels "Location" and "A Woman", as well as "A Long Time", which he has written after more than 20 years of thinking and scrutiny.

  Anne Ernault's novels "A Long Time" and "A Woman" have been published in simplified Chinese, and "A Long Time" won the People's Literature Publishing House's 21st Century Best Foreign Novel Award in 2009.
