The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has announced that a man in his 40s living in Tokyo has been confirmed to be infected with "monkeypox."

This is the seventh confirmed case of infection in Japan.

Monkeypox infection was confirmed in a man in his 40s living in Tokyo.



According to the capital, the man had symptoms of a rash from around the end of September, visited a medical institution on the 4th, and was confirmed to be infected by a subsequent examination by the city.



He is currently recovering at home and is said to be in a stable condition.



This is the seventh confirmed case of infection in Japan, following a man in his 30s confirmed in Tokyo on the 4th.



A metropolitan government official said, ``We have been able to ascertain the behavior history of the infected person and the people who have come into contact with them, and the infection is not spreading.''
