Serial thief addicted to "SpongeBob" clothes arrested

Police in the Tulsa region of the United States of America announced the arrest of a wanted thief, after they found him because of his strange addiction to wearing SpongeBob socks and pants, resembling the famous cartoon character.

The Tulsa Police Department said in a statement, according to Gray News, that police officers arrested Edward Price, known as "Smackman", on September 16 at his apartment on charges of multiple burglaries.

Police said they received reports of five different burglaries at an apartment complex between July and this month.

All burglaries were similar in nature, with the front door being opened and items including electronic devices and guns stolen.

In a few of the robberies, the suspect was seen wearing SpongeBob shorts and stockings.

Later, during a search of Price's apartment, police found more SpongeBob clothes inside the apartment dryer.

Police also recovered several televisions, phones, iPads, tablets, guns, ammunition, internet routers and other electronic devices from the apartment where Price was staying, with many of the stolen items returned to their owners.

Price has been charged with three counts of second-degree burglary, willful concealment of stolen property and possession of a firearm.

Police said Price is a previously convicted criminal.

The police taunted the thief in a Facebook post after announcing his arrest, saying, "For your information, the suspect's apartment was not located in a pineapple under the sea."

And that is in reference to the home of the cartoon character in the famous television show.
