A subcommittee of experts from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has approved the approval for domestic use of a vaccine that corresponds to "BA.5", which is the main infection of the Omicron strain of the new coronavirus.
In the future, it is expected that vaccination will start as early as mid-October after formal approval.
