It can carry 19 passengers or even freight “with an extremely low emission rate”, and a sound level that would make people living near airports dream.

The all-electric ERA aircraft (for electric regional aircraft) from the Toulouse start-up Aura Aéro is due to make its first flight in 2024, for entry into service in 2027.

But it is already making noise and garnering purchase intentions.

This Wednesday, at the bend of Airline Day, organized in Paris by the prestigious Aéroclub de France, nine companies signed "letters of intent" for 130 ERA, in its three versions, passengers, cargo or VIP.

Among these future buyers, there are the French companies Twinjet (25 aircraft) or FlyingGrenn (10), a Brazilian company, a Swiss or another Gabonese.

“Unbeatable business model”

“We are happy and proud to announce these new orders for ERA”, reacted in a press release Jérémy Caussade, co-founder and president of Aura Aéro.

This aeronautical engineer evokes “an unbeatable economic model”.

"We are more than ever convinced of the relevance of this aircraft in the implementation of carbon-free aviation", he adds.

This auspicious day brings to 330 the intentions to order the new regional transport aircraft.
