Abandoned for many years, the Château de Leuhan was put up for auction on Tuesday.

Located in Plabennec (Finistère), this neo-Gothic building from the 19th century was coveted by an association of inhabitants who wanted to acquire it to make it a place to live.

But his offer was not enough, reports France 3 Bretagne.

Ten days to outbid

Indeed, this castle built between 1882 and 1884 was acquired for 217,000 euros by a buyer whose identity has not been made public.

An amount much higher than the claims of the association, which for this auction organized by the State had managed to raise 65,000 euros.

The castle had been priced at 40,000 euros.

The promoters of the project, who do not despair of reaching an agreement with the new buyer, now have ten days to bid higher.

To be valid, this higher bid must be 10% higher than the amount awarded, i.e. more than 238,000 euros.
