Spanish siblings aged over 1,058 enter the Guinness Book of Records

Guinness World Records awarded a family of 12 siblings in Spain a record-breaking certificate for the total recorded ages of a group of siblings, when their combined age was confirmed to be 1,058 years and 249 days.

The Hernandez-Perez siblings, who grew up and still live in the town of Moya, Gran Canaria, ranged in age from 76 to 97.

One of the siblings collected information about their ages after he and his siblings wanted to challenge the previous Guinness World Record for the total age of a group of siblings, which was at the time 1,000 years old.

Four centenarian sisters from Wisconsin, USA, were awarded a record-breaking certificate, after their combined ages reached 389 years, as being the highest combined age of four surviving siblings.

The eldest, Arlon Goodenner, is 101 years old;

Followed by her sister, Marcin, 99 years old;

and then Doris Goodener, 96;

and Joel Beck, 93.

 The Guinness World Records awarded them the title after verifying that they had a combined age of 389 years and 197 days as of August 22.

The combined ages of the four sisters exceeded the previous figure and an American family had a combined age of more than 383 years earlier this year.

"We're still living, and it's something to celebrate," centrist Doris Goodinier commented to the Madison Daily Leader.
