“Woman, life, freedom”!

A demonstration gathered several hundred people in Nantes on Monday evening, in support of Iranian women, in front of the castle of the Dukes of Brittany.

The demonstrators were "between 200 and 250", according to the police, and carried placards which read: "We Nantes residents support our Iranian sisters", "Justice in Iran", "The mullahs it's up to you to put the veils”, or even “Policy of morals ASSASSIN”.

“Everywhere in Iran, everyone is demonstrating, revolting.

It has a lot of violence,” said Shahed, a 40-year-old Iranian who has lived in France for six years.

She explains that she is "worried all the time, for everyone", referring to the fate of her family and friends in Iran.

"An exemplary fight of women"

"The regime (Iranian, editor's note), even if it tries to put out this flame, it will never succeed, because that's it, it's on," said Fari Salimy, about the protests in her country, which she left 40 years ago for political reasons.

“It's an exemplary women's fight.

I think they are brave, but it's unimaginable!

So the only thing I can do is at least go to this type of gathering, ”said Cécile, a 67-year-old woman from Nantes.

At least 92 people have been killed in Iran by the crackdown on protests that erupted two weeks ago after the death of Mahsa Amini, arrested by morality police, the NGO Iran Human Rights (IHR) said on Sunday.
