The “Family Federation for World Peace and Unification,” the former Unification Church, has announced an additional guideline for reform, with a fixed standard of 30% of monthly income for donations from believers.

This was revealed by Hideyuki Teshigahara, head of the church reform promotion headquarters, at a press conference held by the former Unification Church on the 4th.

At a press conference held on the 22nd of last month, he announced a policy of reform to ensure thorough guidance to prevent excessive donations that would make the social life of believers and their families difficult. They were one after another.

In response to this, Chief Teshigahara announced additional guidelines, stating that regarding donations exceeding 30% of a believer's monthly income as a certain standard, ``whether the funds are salaries, financial assets, or whether there was family consent. We will record and issue a receipt so that you can check if there is a problem."

The Reform Headquarters regularly checks the status of the believers.

On the other hand, whether or not donations exceeding 30% of the monthly income are regarded as "excessive donations" will be decided according to the income of each believer.

Lawyer supporting former believer ``I wonder how far it will be carried out''

At a meeting held by the Constitutional Democratic Party and the Communist Party, a lawyer from the "National Association of Lawyers Against Psychic Marketing", which is engaged in support activities for former Unification Church members, said, "We will set standards for donations and issue receipts. There are proposals for things like this, but it is very questionable how far they will be implemented."

Another lawyer said, ``Since the basic stance that donations are based on the faith of the believers remains unchanged, even if a receipt is issued, the church will eventually say, ``It is based on the will of the believers.'' I think they will tell me. The top priority is to properly provide relief for past damage."
