The nursing homes are short of arms.

The government must respond to the "incredible" difficulties encountered by these establishments by financing 20,000 recruitments from next year, instead of the 3,000 planned in the budget of the "Secu", pleaded Tuesday one of the main associations of directors of establishments.

“Old people deserve better!

We have been warning about this situation for years, but we have the feeling that we are never heard, never given priority”, underlined during a press conference Jean-Pierre Riso, the president of the Fnadepa, which brings together around 1,400 of the 10,000 directors of nursing homes, autonomy residences and senior residences.

Jean-Pierre Riso points to serious recruitment difficulties and the exhaustion of current employees, aggravated by the departure of many professionals.

Economic difficulties have been added to this, due to inflation and the non-compensation in full by the State of the wage increases recently granted to employees.

A meeting on October 11

The Minister of Solidarity, Jean-Christophe Combe, announced in mid-September that he would present a "roadmap" within six months to respond to the crisis, but this timetable has upset the representatives of the sector, who are calling for " emergency measures”.

A first meeting with representatives of the sector is scheduled for October 11, according to the minister's entourage.

“Everything has been said, everything has been written.

We consider that this umpteenth consultation is useless and we have therefore not planned to participate in it, ”warned Jean-Pierre Riso, however.
