The Ministry of Defense announced on the 4th that fighter aircraft of the Air Self-Defense Force and the US military conducted joint training over western Kyushu.

It is said that North Korea has confirmed its readiness to respond as it launches ballistic missiles that pass over Japan.

According to the Ministry of Defense, a total of 12 aircraft, including four F15 and F2 fighters from the Air Self-Defense Force and four F35 fighters from the United States Marine Corps, were trained.



At around 3:30 pm on the 4th, at the Air Self-Defense Force Nitahara Base in Miyazaki Prefecture and the US Army Iwakuni Base in Yamaguchi Prefecture, it was confirmed that fighter planes that were believed to have participated in training took off one after another.



According to the Ministry of Defense, tactical training was conducted over the East China Sea to the west of Kyushu, and videos and photos of fighters from both sides flying in formation were released.



Regarding the drill, the Ministry of Defense said, ``With the security environment surrounding Japan becoming more severe, such as North Korea launching a ballistic missile that passes over Japan, the Self-Defense Forces and the U.S. military have confirmed their readiness to respond. and further strengthened the deterrence of the Japan-U.S. alliance.”
