Since 2018, the middle route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project has passed through the Qili River, Wuhe River, Minghe River and other sluice gates, accumulatively supplying more than 800 million cubic meters of ecological water to Xingtai City, Hebei Province.
Through ecological water replenishment, the ecological environment of Xingtai City has been restored, and the groundwater level has continued to rise. From August 2021, many springs in the Baiquan Spring Area located in the Xingtai Development Zone have begun to surge steadily.
By the end of 2021, the groundwater level of the shallow over-exploitation area in Xingtai City will rise by 3.01 meters compared with the same period of the previous year, ranking first in Hebei Province.
