American singer Jack Johnson is being harassed by a pushy fan.

As the news portal "TMZ" reports, the 47-year-old has now obtained an injunction against the woman in court.

She has been writing him dramatic-sounding e-mails for years, comes to every one of his concerts, often buys a VIP ticket and then tries to get through to Johnson at the hotel.

TMZ cites court documents describing an altercation between Johnson and the woman at a Houston, Texas hotel in late August.

She frightened him and a band member so much that Johnson called the police.

With Johnson touring the US and Canada with his new album Meet the Moonlight, it's easy for fans to find him.

The restraining order against her also applies to Johnson's wife Kim and his 16-year-old son.

In November, Johnson will play concerts outside of North America for the first time in three years, in Australia and New Zealand.

Apart from his concerts, the Hawaii-based singer rarely appears in public.

Together with his wife, he has been committed to environmental protection for decades.
