From February next year, it will be possible to carry out moving-out procedures online using your My Number card without going to the municipal office.

If you want to have a moving-out certificate issued by your municipality when you move, you currently have to go to the counter or have it mailed to you, except for some local governments.

In order to simplify these procedures, the government decided at a cabinet meeting on February 3 to make it possible to move out online using My Number cards from February 6 next year.

Specifically, when you send a moving-out notification from the portal site "Mynaportal" on your smartphone, etc., the local government will send the certificate online to the new municipality.

On the other hand, moving-in procedures require you to continue to go to the counter to thoroughly verify your identity.

At a press conference, Internal Affairs and Communications Minister Terada said, "I would like people to feel the convenience of the My Number Card even more."
