The very first official photo of King Charles III was unveiled this Saturday by Buckingham Palace.

The new monarch is joined by Queen Consort Camilla and heir apparent couple Kate and William.

All four are dressed in black.

According to the royal family's tweet, the snap was taken by Chris Jackson, the "royal" photographer at Getty Images for more than twenty years.

The photo was taken on Sunday, September 18, the day before Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

Reception with Heads of State

King Charles III, the Queen Consort, William and Kate were attending a reception for heads of state and official guests that day, Sky News said.

This was one of the largest gatherings of world leaders and world political figures the palace has ever hosted.

This Friday, The Royal Mint, the body responsible for minting British currency, unveiled the new coins bearing the image of the king.

These should come into circulation around December.

The new tickets, meanwhile, are expected to arrive in mid-2024.
