A Turkish musician died in Ankara as a result of an attack after his performance.

Onur Şener did not fulfill a music request from the audience and was later attacked, the broadcaster CNN Türk reported on Monday.

He died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

Five suspects were brought before the magistrate, the state news agency Anadolu reported.

The incident happened on October 2nd in a restaurant in the Turkish capital.

The musician did not fulfill a music request because he did not know the song, according to CNN Türk.

A subsequent argument degenerated into a brawl, in the course of which the musician was injured by a glass bottle in the neck.

Artists, politicians and journalists, among others, expressed indignation about the incident on social media.

Some associated this with criticism of the government and accused it, among other things, of stirring up hostility among the population.
