The Airbnb seasonal rental platform has launched a one million euro aid plan for French hosts wishing to renovate their accommodation to improve its energy performance.

From this Monday, nearly 200,000 rental companies will thus be offered this aid, which may range from 1,000 to 2,200 euros for the realization of various works ranging from insulation to the installation of a heat pump, reveals

Before the summer, several hosts gathered in Paris had indeed highlighted the increase in their charges due to the explosion in energy prices.

In response, Airbnb France therefore wanted to set up this boost to help hosts finance renovation work.

“It is also our response to the fight against climate change.

And France will be a showcase for the group,” said Bertrand Burdet, deputy general manager of Airbnb France.

In association with Effy

This plan was developed in partnership with Effy, one of the major companies in the field of energy renovation in France.

According to information from the company, it should last until the end of the year.

If successful, a new envelope for next year could be released.

To obtain this assistance, hosts must fill out a form on the Airbnb site.

They will then be contacted by telephone by an Effy adviser, who will take care of the diagnosis and who will propose an estimate.

The company also specifies the various aids available, such as MaPrimeRenov'.

If the host agrees, a free technical visit is then organized, which eventually leads to the completion of the work.
