A confidential note from the central direction of the judicial police (DCPJ), revealed by

Le Journal du Dimanche

this Sunday, October 2, highlights the professionalization of drug traffickers in several medium-sized cities in France such as Dijon (Côte-d'Or) , in particular in the way "to obtain supplies, to sell, to recruit, to evacuate and to reinvest their profits".

An explosion of drug trafficking has also been noted there, involving both cannabis, cocaine and heroin.

A high level of organization

Several Dijon neighborhoods were mentioned, such as Grésilles, Fontaine d'Ouche and Greuze, as well as several neighboring towns such as Chenôve or Talant.

In these places, the authorities would have noticed a “Marseillisation” of the traffic which would result in a high level of organization with a distribution of tasks as well as a domination of a few families.

The DCPJ warned of the increase in violence, with five homicides by firearm linked to drug trafficking since 2017. In order to limit this expansion, 777 anti-narcotics operations were carried out in Côte-d'Or in the first half of 2022, for 18 millions of seized proceeds and cash.
