SBS 'I Want to Know' analyzes the possibility of recidivism of Kim Geun-sik, who committed sexual assault of a minor.

'I Want to Know That', which will be aired on October 1, is part of 'The White Car of Horror - Serial Rape Prisoner Kim Geun-sik's Release'.

Seo Moon-ju (pseudonym), 34, is living in hell these days.

What bothered her was the news about a man.

Unfortunately, Munju, who was sexually assaulted by an unfamiliar adult when she was in the fourth grade of elementary school.

Because of the tragedy of that unforgettable day, it is said that he was afraid of adult men for a long time until he became an adult.

Unfortunately, the culprit was never caught.

However, a person who remembers her as the culprit appeared to her.

After recognizing the criminal's face through the news, the memories of that time are recalled, and Mr. Moonju is having a difficult time.

The main character in the photo in the news that she pointed out is Kim Geun-sik, 55 years old.

He is a child rapist who is expected to be released this month.

Mr. Moon-ju is worried that if he is released from prison, he will commit a crime that will cause anger against the children again.

What kind of crime did Kim Geun-sik commit?

Incheon, 2006, less than 8 am.

As usual, an unfamiliar man appeared in front of the child who was going to school and talked to him.

"Child, it's hard for you to listen to all of these. Could you please come and listen?"

The average man with a normal stature, rather skinny build, and not a scary impression didn't seem like a bad person to a child.

Without a single doubt, perhaps with a proud heart of helping others, the child followed the uncle.

The child who met the white car man later fell on his desk in the classroom and cried, telling his friends terrible stories.

Unfortunately, the ghost stories circulating in the Incheon area were true.

That was the beginning of a tragedy that no one expected, a serial child rape case.

The culprit was Kim Geun-sik.

The crime of Kim Geun-sik, which occurred in 2006, was not revealed from the beginning.

Between May and June 2006, when the World Cup was hot, three cases of child sexual assault were received in Incheon alone for a full month.

According to the statements of the victims, the perpetrators talked to each other to lift heavy luggage, and they all had one thing in common: they drove a white car.

The police did not consider the incidents to be separate incidents, but rather the same offender, and pursued the suspects through the victim's statements and interrogation.

The decisive clue to the culprit was found in CCTV footage obtained near the crime scene.

The license plate was not identified, but the picture of the criminal getting out of the white car mentioned by the children was filmed.

Based on this, the police confirmed the model of the white car and followed the clues to the criminal.

However, it was not easy to identify the culprit through the vehicle, and four more victims occurred while the police investigation continued.

When the case became known to the media and the police confirmed the identity of the criminal and a public wanted proceeded, the criminal was finally arrested.

The fearful white car man was 39-year-old Kim Geun-sik.

It was Kim Geun-sik, who did not stop the crime even when he was on the run as a public wanted.

As a result of the police investigation, a total of 12 cases of sexual violence against Kim Geun-sik were confirmed in 5 months.

For a short period of five months, from May 2006 to September, when they were arrested, only minors such as elementary school students and middle school students were targeted.

What was surprising was the fact that Kim Geun-sik's serial sexual assault began only 16 days after he was released from prison.

Moreover, the reason he was in prison was the sexual assault of a minor.

He was imprisoned for five years and six months, but he could not stop his ugly desire.

Kim Geun-sik was eventually sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of sexual assaults of minors in 2006.

However, such Kim Geun-sik is about to be released from prison this month.

The forgotten fearsome white car man is returning to the crowd again.

In the past, there are many people who are worried about his release because he has repeatedly sexually assaulted a child as soon as he is released.

News of his release and photos were also released through the media.

Will Kim Geun-sik reflect on his past and become a different person?

At the time in 2006, the detective who investigated Kim Geun-sik clearly remembered the man who stated that he was not interested in adults and that seeing children strangely made him feel better.

As soon as he was released from prison after paying for child sexual assault, Kim Geun-sik committed 12 cases of child sexual assault again in a row.

Can we be sure that he will not reoffend, who will be released from prison at the age of 55 this year?

Experts analyzed that Kim Geun-sik belongs to the high-risk group with the highest possibility of re-offending among sex offenders, given that the crime was repeated more than 10 times, and the fact that he committed sexual assault against an unrelated child.

Moreover, he points out that he suspects pedophilia, given that he was aroused enough to rupture some of the genitals of the victims.

And, unfortunately, pedophilia is almost impossible to cure.

The Ministry of Justice said that it would designate Kim Geun-sik as a subject of one-on-one electronic supervision and consider measures such as residence, going out, and travel restrictions.

It also announced that it would amend the law to provide indefinite treatment for pedophile child sex offenders who are at high risk of recidivism.

Are these measures sufficient to prevent child sexual abuse offenders like Kim Geun-sik and keep our children safe?

Analyze the past crimes of Kim Geun-sik, who is about to be released from prison, check the current state of his prison life and the possibility of recidivism, while thinking about how to prevent the crime of sexual assault of minors. The release of rapist Kim Geun-sik' will be broadcast at 11:10 pm on the 1st of October.
