A tweet, however quickly deleted, from the Hérault prefecture, did not go unnoticed.

In this message, the prefect of Hérault reacted to an article in

Midi Libre

, evoking the arrest of a man suspected of having tried to injure passengers on a train with a knife, in Montpellier.

“I want to put an end to the delinquency of foreign homeless people”, could we read in this tweet which, reports France 3, has since disappeared.

In this tweet, the prefect of Hérault mentioned "104 police custody since August", specifying that they are "Algerians and Moroccans in majority", responsible for "numerous thefts" and "violence with weapons".

“We will be intractable, it was written.

The CRS have instructions not to let them go.

They are not welcome.

A message condemned on the left, hailed on the far right

Several left-wing personalities castigated this ephemeral publication.

“These are neither words nor actions that are expected of a prefect”, reacted Nathalie Oziol (LFI), Nupes deputy for Hérault.

For Sophie Mazas, lawyer for the League of Human Rights, interviewed by France 3, "these remarks are on the verge of indignity".

In the ranks of the extreme right, on the other hand, the message is welcomed.

“Congratulations to the prefect of Hérault who told the truth, before deleting his publication”, tweeted Eric Zemmour (Reconquest).

“The prefect of Hérault is a little hero of the truth, added Gilbert Collard (extreme right).

Too bad his tweet was deleted.
