The CHRU (University Hospital Center) of Brest-Carhaix (Finistère) experienced a serious computer failure this Wednesday from 7 a.m.

Finally, the ARS (regional health agency) indicated this Thursday in a press release relayed by

Ouest-France

“that the computer applications could be relaunched during the night”.

However, the system remains under surveillance.

Rescheduled consultations

The computer failure in question concerned all the departments of the Brest establishments (Cavale Blanche, Bohars and Morvan), as well as the Carhaix hospital.

The hospital center was then forced to suspend all hospitalizations, except vital emergencies.

Patients have meanwhile been redirected to neighboring hospitals, and their operations postponed or canceled.

If most of the consultations scheduled for today were initially canceled, the ARS finally indicated in its press release that "the consultations will be rescheduled from 2 p.m.".

As for non-emergency surgeries, they will be rescheduled from Friday.

If care activities are being resumed, users are always invited to call 15 before going to the emergency room.
