, evokes "Starman who waits in the sky" and wishes to meet humans.

The text, sold on Tuesday, initially priced at 40,000 pounds (about 44,600 euros), is written in blue ink on a sheet of small squares in A4 format.

It shows the changes made by Bowie, as well as spelling mistakes corrected by the singer.



The identity of the buyer not disclosed

The document was exhibited during a retrospective at the Victoria & Albert Museum dedicated in 2013 to the singer, who died in January 2016 at the age of 69.

The buyer is a private collector whose identity has not been revealed.

The handwritten text was part of a larger sale titled "David Bowie and Glam Rock", including posters and vinyl records.
