Chukhrai announced the decision to leave the post of head of the Oscars Committee of Russia

Chukhrai, in a letter to members of the Russian Oscar Committee, noted that the decision not to nominate a Russian film for an Oscar nomination was made “through the head of the Oscar committee.”

“I want to notify you that in protest I am resigning from my duties as chairman and resigning from this organization,” the letter says.

Earlier it became known that a press conference was held in Vladivostok with filmmakers and representatives of the jury of the 19th Pacific Meridian International Film Festival.
