Fans of the seventh art and lovers of creativity in general await at the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth, 34 educational and entertainment workshops, during the activities of its ninth session, which will receive the audience from 10 to 15 October, at the Al Jawaher Center for Events and Conferences in Sharjah, under the slogan “Think Cinema”.

The workshops target all age groups, children, youth and adults, to enrich the imagination of the next generation of cinema lovers, as part of the festival’s endeavor to empower the emerging generation of various media arts, and consolidate cinematic culture in them through an integrated program.

The interactive workshops presented by experts in the film industry aim to enhance the spirit of innovation and unleash the imagination of the participating children and youth to help them develop thinking and creativity, acquire a variety of skills necessary to create visual masterpieces, enable them to explore various media arts techniques, and gain knowledge related to each aspects of the film industry.

Workshop participants and promising filmmakers explore Western and Japanese anime skills, VLOG techniques, sound effects, post-production, and practice script and story writing, and the principles of film budgeting.

Through several sessions on film directing, the workshops aim to build the necessary skills for the participants, provide advice and directions that guide them to express themselves creatively through media art, and enable them to communicate messages of purposeful art through cinema and various media arts, and this year's session of the festival provides a platform to experience Augmented reality technology, to bring motion and life to still graphics.

The workshops offered by the Arab Theater Club (Adwar) allow children to explore acting techniques through fun educational and entertaining activities, while Nikon provides young participants with the basic video shooting skills needed to make a movie, and accompanies them on a step-by-step filmmaking journey.

While the "Creative Lab", which is based in Abu Dhabi, organizes workshops during the festival, through which it trains children to explore their creativity, enrich their artistic outlook on life, and introduces them to the types and classifications of films, and how to take advantage of the various elements and employ them to make better films.
