It is a moving photo for many Britons (and not only) that Buckingham Palace has published.

On the social networks of the crown, we indeed discover the tombstone which marks the precise location where Queen Elizabeth II is buried.

On the stone, sober and black, one can read the names and the years of birth and death of the sovereign, of her husband Prince Philip, who died last year, but also of her parents, King George VI and the "Queen Mother" Elizabeth.

“A cut stone has been installed at the King George VI Memorial Chapel, following the burial of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

The King George VI Memorial Chapel is within the grounds of St George's Chapel, Windsor,” reads The Royal Family Twitter and Instagram accounts.

According to the BBC, the tombstone is made of Belgian black marble, and the letters inlaid with copper.

From Thursday, the public will be able to meditate on the last resting place of the queen.

To enter the chapel, you will have to pay the sum of around 30 euros (the entrance costs a little more on Saturdays).

It was Elizabeth II herself who had the King George VI Memorial Chapel built in 1962. She was already planning to be buried there alongside her husband and her father the King.

It is also the resting place of Princess Margaret, who died in 2002 and whose ashes were laid alongside her parents when the Queen Mother also died a few weeks later.
