During the autumn equinox, pepper farmers are drying peppers on the Gobi Desert in Bohu County, Bayingoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang.

From a distance, the Gobi Desert is covered with dried red peppers, which is spectacular.

The golden autumn season is dry and rainy, which is suitable for planting and drying peppers.

The Gobi Desert in the south is a good place to dry peppers due to its large area, long sunshine, and large temperature difference. The local pepper drying work will continue until early November.

The peppers here are large and thick. After being exposed to the sun, they become dried peppers, which can be used as ingredients, and the pigments in the peppers can also be extracted, which are mainly used in cosmetics, medicines and food.

This year, 470,000 mu of local peppers are planted, and the output is expected to reach about 1.4 million tons.
