The head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, said that he begins daily with writing and composing from ten in the morning until 12 in the evening until he completes fifty volumes of his works, which will be issued under the title “Al-Qaradawi’s Complex in Moderation and Renewal.”

Regarding joining Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Al-Qaradawi explained that he was an orphan child who memorized the Holy Qur’an and wanted to study at Al-Azhar, but his uncle refused that at first because the family was poor and most Al-Azhar graduates could not find a job, but he insisted on joining him, and one of the scholars helped him convince his uncle So.

Al-Qaradawi recounted his first meeting with the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Sheikh Hassan Al-Banna, saying, “When I joined the Al-Azhari Institute, I learned that Sheikh Hassan Al-Banna had arrived in Tanta to give a lecture, so I went to listen to him and my heart was attached to him. It is revival, renewal, unity and construction.

He added, "I liked Al-Banna's understanding of Sharia, his charismatic leadership personality, and his charming style of rhetoric. When I reached the fourth year of primary school, I decided to join the Brotherhood."

His relationship with the Brotherhood

With regard to his stay in Qatar, Al-Qaradawi confirmed that he arrived at the beginning as a representative of Al-Azhar at the request of one of its scholars, and that he found great welcome in it from the Emir, the government, the people, and scholars, and that since he came to it in 1961, he has never felt that he is a stranger to it.
