If Kanye West's catalog has been auctioned, the principal concerned assures that it is certainly not with his agreement.

Recently, rumors began to circulate according to which the artist would have started looking for potential buyers for the exploitation rights of his discography.

A catalog which, according to Billboard, would bring him 5 million dollars a year, and which he would be ready to sell for 35 times this sum, or 175 million dollars.

But in a recent Instagram Story, Ye categorically denied putting his artwork up for sale.

“Just like Taylor Swift, my catalog goes on sale without my knowledge,” he lamented.

Hook the fish

Indeed, we remember that Taylor Swift had seen her catalog being sold by her former label to Scooter Braun without her agreement, pushing the pop star to embark on the re-recording of her first albums in order to recover her rights.

It's hard to say if Sony Music Publishing, current owner of Kanye West's catalog, wants to do the same.

However, the exorbitant price peddled by the rumors suggests that this is fake news, or else a tad crude attempt to strike the fish while a frenzy of buying music catalogs seized the investment funds for several months.
