16 judges evaluate the films "Sharjah Film Festival"

The Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth, affiliated with the Fun Foundation, the organizer of the festival, revealed that the list of members of the jury for its ninth session includes 16 filmmakers and experts who will undertake the task of evaluating the films participating in the festival, which will be organized over six days from 10 to 15 October next in the Center Jewels for events and conferences, under the slogan "Think Cinema".

The jury for this year's session includes a group of filmmakers, directors, film experts, directors of television channels and film festivals, media professionals and university professors, from 11 Arab and foreign countries, where the judges are divided into six out of the seven categories of the festival, which are student-made films and short Gulf films. , short fiction films, animation films, documentaries, and feature films, while 25 promising young arbitrators, graduates of the arbitrator qualification workshop organized by the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth, are supervising the judging of the seventh category, which is “films made by children and young people.” .

The jury for the "Student-Made Films" category includes Emirati filmmaker Amal Al-Duwailah, assistant professor at Zayed University in Dubai - Department of Film Production, Nadia Rahman, and Belgian film expert Siona Vidakovic.

In the "Short Gulf Films" category, Kuwaiti writer Heba Mishari Hamada, Omani actress Buthaina Al Raisi, and Emirati director Hani Al Shaibani will participate.

The jury for the “Short Narrative Films” category is comprised of Emirati director Masoud Amrallah Al Ali, and writer, producer and director Yasser Al Yasiri.

As for the “Animated Films” category, the participation of Saudi expert Sarah Mohamed Waldada, Emirati producer and director Maryam Al Serkal, and Canadian-American director Laurie Gordon.

The jury of "Documentary Films" includes the journalist and writer Ahmed Shehab El-Din, the Syrian media and director Waad Al-Khatib, and the Kenyan expert, Susan Mbogo.

The "Feature Films" will witness the participation of Emirati director Nawaf Al-Janahi and Aida Al-Hassani.

It is noteworthy that the members of the jury adopt specific criteria for evaluating the films, including the idea and purpose of the work, the degree of mastery of execution, the elements of creativity and innovation, the presentation method, the techniques used, the organization, and other criteria.
