Pearl

, a Ti West horror film starring Mia Goth in the cast, deeply disturbed Martin Scorsese.

The film, which is a prequel to

X

, a film which French audiences will be able to enjoy in theaters from November 2, was presented at the last Venice Film Festival.

And the director of

Taxi Driver

was so marked that he had nightmares!

“Ti West's films have that kind of energy that's so rare these days, driven by a pure love of cinema.

You can feel it in every shot,” wrote Martin Scorsese in a review published by SlashFilm.

“This prequel to

X

was made in a diametrically opposed cinematographic register (in the genre of 1950s melodramas).

Pearl

is 102 wild, hypnotic and deeply – I mean really deeply – disturbing minutes.

Fascinated

“I was fascinated, then disturbed, and then disturbed to the point that I had trouble sleeping afterwards.

But I couldn't stop watching,” Martin Scorsese finally added to conclude his eulogy.

In

Pearl

, Mia Goth plays a young woman living on a remote farm in the early 20th century.

Dreaming of becoming a movie star, she doesn't hesitate to shed blood to make her dream come true.

Already released across the Atlantic, the film does not yet have a date for its arrival in France.
