Already at the beginning of production, Katarina Wennstam and Helena Bergström agreed that they did not want to make a detective story about the murder of Anna Lindh.

- We don't want to exploit a murder, but tell about a completely decisive event in Swedish contemporary history, says Katarina Wennstam.

The duo describes the tension in the series as low-intensity as everyone already knows who the perpetrator is.

Instead, they wanted to explore the killer's motives.

According to Katarina Wennstam, the murder of Anna Lindh is a story about men's violence against women.

Helena Bergström says she wants to shed light on Anna Lindh's political act, and explore who she was and what Sweden lost when she died.

- Whatever political opinion you had, there was respect for her, she says.

During her time as foreign minister, Anna Lindh approved a rejection decision for two Egyptians who were then tortured.

It was revealed after her death.

But that type of criticism is not included in Sveriges Radio's dramatization.

- That is not what our story is about, says Helena Bergström.
