Brad Pitt unveils a new string to his bow.

The American star discreetly inaugurated this weekend in Finland the first exhibition showing his sculptures.

"It was exciting and wonderful," said Sarianne Soikkonen, curator of the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, the Nordic country's third-largest city.

For the first time, the 58-year-old “largely self-taught” actor exhibited nine works, in a joint exhibition with renowned British artist Thomas Houseago, but also another famous debutant, Australian rock star Nick Cave .

Among the works of Brad Pitt, a large molded plaster panel representing a shooting or a series of silicone sculptures in the shape of a house, each hit by bullets of different calibers, lodged in the plastic.

For Brad Pitt, "it's about introspection"

To the great surprise of a Finland unaccustomed to visits from Hollywood stars, the actor made an appearance at the exhibition on Saturday, accompanied by Nick Cave.

“For Nick and me, it's a new world and a first performance.

It just feels good, ”the actor told Finnish television Yle the same day, who did not know he would be present.

“For me, it's about introspection.

It's about where I went wrong in my relationships, where I misstepped," the star said.

The exhibition had only been announced as the first in the Nordic countries of the sculptor and painter Thomas Houseago, one of the figures of modern sculpture.

The artist's decision to invite his friends Brad Pitt and Nick Cave was made during the pandemic due to "events in the personal life of (Thomas) Houseago", explained Sarianne Soikkonen.
