[Explanation] "August 15, chrysanthemum yellow crab fat".

Although the Mid-Autumn Festival has passed this year, the "fat crab" is long overdue.

It is understood that the high-temperature weather since the beginning of summer this year has affected crab farming in Jiangsu and other places.

At the same time, the price of crabs also showed an upward trend this year.

[Explanation] Since the beginning of summer this year, there have been continuous high temperature and little rain in crab producing areas such as Jiangsu, which has caused hairy crabs to not like to "eat" and to grow slowly.

Near Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou, crab farmer Xu Hao takes a boat to see his crab pond every day.

This is a male crab. It has finished shelling the fifth layer. You see, it (the belly of the crab) is now completely white and mature. Next, it will take about 10 to 15 days to get fat. Available for listing.

[Explanation] On the banks of Gucheng Lake, Gaochun District, Nanjing, crab farmers are busy in the crab pond, waiting to catch the upcoming Gucheng Lake hairy crabs.

[Explanation] According to Wang Yantao, director of the Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Gaochun District, Nanjing, the high temperature this summer delayed the launch of crabs, but it did not affect their quality.

The high temperature and drought had no effect on the quality of crabs, but the impact was the time of listing, which was delayed by about 20 days. The early stage (crab price) was particularly expensive. In the same period last year, our Nanjing Gucheng Lake crabs were listed at about 300,000 kilograms. These two days Just 10,000 kilograms.

The price fluctuates greatly in the later period, and my overall opinion may rise slightly.

[Explanation] From September 16th to 17th, a reporter from China News Service visited some supermarkets and aquatic product markets in Nanjing and found that the current price of crabs on the market has risen significantly compared with the same period in previous years.

In the Nanjing Yihema Fresh Aquatic Products Zone, the hairy crabs that have been marketed in advance are divided into multiple price ranges according to their specifications.

Now we basically sell the main sizes of female crabs. The crab roe is already available, but it is not particularly full.

[Explanation] Huang Xiangyang told reporters that at present, Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs have not yet been listed.

We ourselves have a crab breeding base of 5,000 mu in Yancheng, Jiangsu. We are currently selling 22, 225 and 323 varieties (crab weight), and the overall sales are still relatively good.

(The price is relative to previous years?) Because the weather and temperature this year are relatively high and the output this year is relatively low, the price this year is slightly more expensive than in previous years.

Before the National Day, Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs will be on the market. By then, the overall quality of crabs will be better.

[Explanation] The reporter also learned through various channels that in addition to weather reasons, the breeding cost of hairy crabs has increased slightly this year, and "a small price is high" may become a common phenomenon in the hairy crab market this year.

We insist on nine kinds of ingredients (feeding hairy crabs), small fish, small shrimp, snails, mussels, corn, pumpkin, wheat, sweet potatoes, soybean meal, balanced proportions, and feeding on time.

This year, the sunshine is very abundant, and we are now continuously improving the water quality of Yangcheng Lake. It is estimated that the quality of crabs this year is the best year in recent years. (However) the size and output of crabs are slightly lower than in previous years.

[Concurrent] Yao Shuisheng, spokesperson of Suzhou Yangcheng Lake Hairy Crab Industry Association

The 2022 Yangcheng Lake Hairy Crab Catching Festival in Suzhou, China will be held on September 23 in Bacheng, Kunshan. At that time, Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs will be listed one after another. At that time, consumers can eat delicious Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs.

[Explanation] Yao Shuisheng also reminded consumers that when purchasing hairy crabs, the public should enhance their awareness of prevention, improve their ability to distinguish, and be alert to the pre-sale consumption traps of crabs.
