The Liberals

Giving the Ministry of Culture to L would challenge the already strained cohesion of the government's foundation – precisely in the area of culture, L and SD are the closest outspoken opponents.

The former chairman of the Culture Committee, Christer Nylander (L), is the ministerial candidate dreamed of in the country's cultural editorial offices, but he has just left the politics of the Riksdag and the party board in protest against his party's opening for cooperation with SD.

That he would now take a place in just such a government collaboration is unrealistic.

The Christian Democrats

Ideologically not unthinkable.

A government that wants to profile itself on change to the right could absolutely shelter a Christian conservative in the Ministry of Culture.

The problem is that KD's leading culture politician Roland Utbult is a gentle, compromise-oriented committee politician (he is the one who usually says that in the culture committee we agree on most things) - not a minister type and not a change politician.

There are other Christian Democrats, for example Lars Adaktusson.

He has proposed radical changes to the public service in the Riksdag and is more of a confrontational politician.

The problem with him is that he has been in a feud with his own party leadership for several years, it is doubtful whether the same party leadership would want to reward his lack of loyalty with a cabinet post.

The Sweden Democrats

The party that would love to get the post of minister of culture - and in that case the job would be important to Mattias Karlsson, the party's ideologue and thinker.

But I consider this to be the least likely outcome of the government negotiations.

Mainly because a Sweden Democratic culture minister would be difficult for the Liberals to accept and L is as necessary a support party as the others for a Kristersson government.

But also because a minister of culture from SD would arouse enormous criticism and uproar of a kind that the government would not benefit from.

The moderates

It is likely that the Moderates will take the Ministry of Culture - perhaps not because they really want to, but because it is the most expedient solution for the government to be formed.

If M wants to go outside the ranks of politicians, they could bring in Paulina Neuding, an entrepreneur in media and ideology who for a decade worked to shift the cultural debate to the right and has the CEO-like competence profile a minister needs (more than conservative deep thinkers like Johan Lundberg or Roland Poirier Martinsson ).

But in the complex situation that prevails, there is a lot to be said for preferring a seasoned party worker, with respect for tactical thinking, for the ministerial position.

Current cultural spokesperson Kristina Axén Olin has been rather invisible.

Then there would be more features in the former spokesperson Viktor Wärnick, who was able to bring ideological energy into cultural policy.

He could be a changer with a clear moderate profile.

So, my tip line: Viktor Wärnick (M) guarded with Paulina Neuding on a moderate mandate.

Another possible development is that the government does not want to drive change right now in the conflict-filled cultural area, they prioritize other battles and they just want to put the cultural revolution on the table.

Then you can make Roland Utbult (KD) the minister with the directive to carry on as before.
