On the morning of September 16, the remains of the ninth batch of Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs in South Korea were escorted by a special plane of the Chinese Air Force and returned to Shenyang, Liaoning Province from South Korea. The remains of 88 Volunteer Army martyrs and 837 related relics returned to the embrace of the motherland.

On the same day, China and South Korea held a ceremony for the handover of the remains of the Volunteer Army martyrs at the Incheon International Airport in South Korea. For three consecutive years, China sent a special plane Y-20 to welcome the Volunteer Army martyrs home.
