In response to an incident in which a 3-year-old girl died of heatstroke after being left behind in a school bus at a certified children's center in Shizuoka Prefecture, a child left behind in the bus in Sagamihara City used a ``crime prevention buzzer'' to notify the surroundings. An experiment was conducted to verify that it is possible.

In response to the incident, Sagamihara City has installed security buzzers at all kindergartens and other facilities in the city that operate a school bus, and has been considering whether it is possible to notify the surroundings if a child is left behind on the bus. .

On the 14th, an experiment was conducted at a kindergarten in the city to verify how much the sound of the "crime prevention buzzer" sounded in the bus could be heard, with the participation of city officials and kindergarten officials.

As a result, it was found that the sound was muffled when the bus doors and windows were closed, and the sound could only be heard near the bus.

After that, as a result of experimenting by changing the conditions, such as sounding multiple security buzzers and sounding with the window open, it was found that if the driver's window was opened about 10 centimeters, the sound would reach the outside of the bus. is confirmed.

Based on the results, the city has decided to recommend that all 94 facilities, such as kindergartens and nursery schools that operate commuter buses, install security buzzers in the commuter buses.

Yoshio Toyama, head of the Sagamihara City Nursery Division, said, "First of all, adults need to take various measures to prevent recurrence, and ``I would like to call on facilities that operate buses to use crime prevention buzzers in case of an emergency.'' was
