A "peak of interest" since the disappearance of the queen

If Netflix did not want to communicate precise figures, the streaming platform, on the other hand, confirms to Europe 1 a real “peak of interest” for

The Crown

.

The first season, which dates from six years ago, was one of the ten most watched series last week on Netflix in 26 countries.

And again, the world learned of the death of Queen Elizabeth II last Thursday.

However, Netflix does the calculation from Monday to Sunday.

The series will no doubt go up the rankings even more this week.

A disturbing fiction among the Windsors

Peter Morgan's series is a fiction.

But it is she who most faithfully tells the story of the Windsors.

The first season opens with the marriage, in 1947, of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and traces the first steps of the young woman in her role as queen.

The third and fourth seasons of the Netflix show have been more controversial within the royal family since they return to the love triangle formed by Charles, his wife Diana, and his mistress Camilla Shand.

The dissatisfaction of the Windsors, when the episodes were released, was such that the British government asked Netflix in 2020 to add a warning to indicate that it was indeed a fiction.
