Actor Lee Jung-jae, who became the first Korean actor to win the Emmy Award for Best Actor, and director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who won the Best Director Award, shared their impressions through an interview with local media.



The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on the 12th (local time) on the 12th (local time).



With the Netflix original drama 'Squid Game', which was released in September last year, director Hwang Dong-hyuk received the 'Director Award' in the drama series category and Lee Jung-jae won the 'Best Actor Award', leaving a new record in the history of popular culture not only in the US but also in Korea.

After the awards ceremony, Lee Jung-jae was asked if he had prepared his acceptance speech, saying, "I didn't prepare at all, but I wanted to thank Hwang Dong-hyuk, so I practiced that part."



Lee Jung-jae told director Hwang Dong-hyuk, "He made a really realistic work. I would like to express my gratitude to the director's creativity for realizing an amazing story."

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said, "It's an honor to attend the awards ceremony, but we won it." When asked about 'Squid Game Season 2', he said, "I finished writing up to episode 6, and about half of the story was completed. Unlike 1, he will become a new character by taking revenge.”



In an official interview prepared behind the awards ceremony, when asked about the prospects for non-English-speaking TV programs, Lee Jung-jae said, "I have been acting for 30 years, so there is a big change in the content market once every 10 years."



He continued, "Every time I went abroad with Korean content, I said, 'Please look at Korean culture and stories.' there is," he said.
