At 12:52 on September 5, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan, with a focal depth of 16 kilometers. The earthquake affected Luding County in Ganzi Prefecture and Shimian County in neighboring Ya'an City. After the earthquake, the Sichuan Fire Rescue Corps immediately dispatched seven detachments, including Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan and Ziyang, with a total of 530 earthquake rescue forces to the epicenter for rescue. At present, the Sichuan fire rescue team has searched and rescued 243 trapped people, evacuated and transferred 6,549 people in distress, and checked 9,353 dilapidated houses. In addition, 40 people were stationed in 7 large-scale centralized resettlement sites for the affected people, distributed more than 10,000 copies of fire prevention publicity materials, and equipped more than 1,200 fire extinguishers.
