On the Nishikyushu Shinkansen, which will open on the 23rd of this month, a test-ride event was held for the press, and the state-of-the-art train traveled between Takeo Onsen in Saga Prefecture and Nagasaki.

The Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen will open on the 23rd of this month, connecting Takeo Onsen in Saga Prefecture and Nagasaki in about 66 kilometers in as little as 23 minutes.

With the opening approaching, the first test drive event was held for the press on the 10th.

At the platform of Takeo Onsen, a state-of-the-art “N700S” colored bright red car “Kamome” waited and departed before 11:00 a.m. with the participants on board.

The reserved seats inside the train are arranged in groups of two across the central aisle, and are decorated with lion and arabesque patterns.

From the window of the train, you can see a panoramic view of Omura Bay in Nagasaki Prefecture, and you can also see the Shinkansen depot called "Seagull's Nest" after the train's name.

The state-of-the-art vehicle is also characterized by less shaking while running, and arrived in Nagasaki in about 30 minutes on the 10th.

JR Kyushu's Sou Kayashima, station manager of Nagasaki Station, said, "With the opening of the Shinkansen, it will be 30 minutes shorter from Hakata to Nagasaki, and I think Nagasaki will feel closer to you. I would like you to visit Nagasaki once and learn about its many attractions." was talking
