The Netflix platform announced, the day before yesterday, the temporary suspension of filming of its series "The Crown", following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The sixth season of the successful series, which deals with the life of Queen Elizabeth II at the head of the most famous royal family in the world, is currently being filmed.

The work highlights the crises that affected this family, in addition to the political problems that the Queen faced, and the relationship she had with her husband Philip.

"In a respectful gesture, filming of (The Crown) has been suspended Friday," a Netflix spokesperson said.

"Filming will also be suspended on the day of the Queen's funeral," he added, while a large number of officials at the streaming platform are attending the Toronto International Film Festival.

The first season of the series, which won several Emmy Awards, which are rewards for television work that are equal to the Oscars in importance, was launched with a prominent event, the marriage of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1947.
